Alone Time ...

I absolutely *LOVE* days like today. I *LOVE* my alone time!! Can't quite put my finger on when that switch came about for me as there was a time that I never wanted to be alone. It was so long ago that I can hardly remember it.

JD has been working at the computer store rearranging his office all day so the girls & I are home alone! Had plans on doing a lot and that never seems to pan out for me ... if I plan on it, it doesn't happen. Do you experience this? It's like if I don't plan anything then I get a whole lot more accomplished ... crazy I know.

I did manage to straighten the home office up a bit, that room just seems to be a catch all for everything. Do you have one of those rooms in your house? Purchased a futon for the office several months back so that we would have a spare bed when guest come, like my friend Ginni. She says she doesn't mind sleeping on the couch but I mind, besides the fact that it's nice to be able to close the door and not be woken by furry paws running across your chest.

I need to tackle my scrapbook room, and it was in the plan today but I just can't seem to find the motivation ... so I decided to curl up in my new recliner (with my blogging partner "Sassy") and blog instead...

 

Thinking a lot about "Daisy Mae" today as well. Wonder how she is doing in her new home....

Plans on taking on a new foster .... not so much!!!

Need to get back to working on our fund-raiser crop in June for animal rescue. Still have 100's of request to get out for donations. If you don't know about the crop, check it out here...

Charity Fund Raisers ...

So, I attended a fund-raising scrap-booking crop again this past weekend and finally had the push that I needed in order to over come my own fears and take the plunge, and make the commitment  to finally host a three day weekend crop donating ALL of the money earned to animal rescue!  My commitment is to be TOTALLY accountable for all money earned and spent. My belief is that you as our supporters deserve to know where every dollar goes. That the crop attendees / supporters should be the winners of the prizes and raffles and not the host!

"Cause for the PAWS" 1st annual crop will be held June 4th, 5th & 6th 2010 and it will be held at the Kenilworth Lodge in Sebring Florida. We have many things planned that have never been done at a crop before and I know  you are going to *LOVE* all that we have in store for you!

Some of my beliefs that has brought me to putting on this fund-raiser....

I believe that with some temporary assistance, many animals can remain in their current homes instead of being admitted to animal shelters.

I believe in helping pets and our county by providing temporary supplies of pet food to families suffering from unemployment, seniors on fixed incomes and families that are dealing with chronically illnesses where resources are tightly dedicated. These services may be made available from a pet food bank established for this specific purpose.

I believe in providing a low cost spay/neuter program for the people of Sarasota, Manatee & Hillsborough County for the purpose of reducing unwanted births and unfortunate deaths of the off springs.

I believe in providing emergency funds for intervention in medical services for injured pets that are salvageable and would live a full normal life with appropriate medical services provided in a timely manner.

I believe in offering temporary foster care for pets whose care providers may need to get short-term hospital care. Many seniors and chronically ill patients will put off necessary health services for lack of a safe haven for their pets. This service will provide piece of mind speeding the recovery of seniors or chronically ill patients that may wish to take advantage of this service. From our food bank we shall provide the necessary food and shelter for pets placed in our temporary care.

I believe in helping pets through temporary care & sheltering for abused persons in battered shelters.

I know it's Wednesday!

Yes my friends, it's Wednesday and I have not as of yet posted the Wednesday Motivation. My back is hurting so badly today that I just can't sit and type that long. I will post it tonight or by morning, I promise!

Owning a salon and being a nail technician for over 18 years, when my friend Ana sent this video to me, I just could not resist putting it on my blog! It is so funny and yet so true. Don't forget to silence my music player before clicking on play. Thanks for sharing this with me Ana.

OMG . . . can you say PRICELESS?

Billy the boxer has become the constant companion of the 12-day old kid called Lilly.   He sleeps with the goat, licks her clean, and protects her from any dangers at Pennywell Farm wildlife centre at Buckfastleigh, near Totnes, Devon. 

The kid was abandoned by her mother when she was only a few hours old and adopted by paternal Billy when his owner Elizabeth Tozer began hand rearing the goat. The unusual bond has developed over the last month and the pair are now inseparable.

 said: 'Lilly follows Billy around which is really quite amusing to watch and Billy sleeps with the goat and cleans her mouth after she feeds.'

 

Lilly was the smallest of a litter of three kids and her mother abandoned her because she could only care for the two stronger ones. The pair have attracted quite a crowd at the animal centre and the staff are keen to see how their relationship will develop.
